MUDS THERAPY
The Mar Menor offers the visitor the largest open-air mud therapy area in Europe. The muds are located in several Mar Menor places. The best known area is "Las Charcas de las Salinas" in Lo Pagán (North Mar Menor). Other areas are El Ciervo island -see location on La Manga map 2A- and Los Alemanes beach -see location on La Manga map 1A-

The muds are of easy absorbtion. They increase body's absortion of minerals and stimulate bone problems healing. Its usage is recommended for skin problems, rheumatism, arthritis, gout, throat infections and rehabilitation.
THALASSOTHERAPY
Thalassotherapy is the treatment of illnesses by means of sea water. The Mar Menor waters, rich in magnesium, calcium, sodium, bromide, iodine and flouride, are very effective against arthritis, rheumatism, tendinitis, nervous and articulatory dissorders.
The same Hotels and Specialized Residences (listed below) offer advanced salty water treatment with ozone bubbles and pressurized water jets. They use heated swimming pools and hydrotherapy bathtubs, everything under medical control.
